An estimated 11% of US women report at least one UTI/ year. This podcast will cover the workup and treatment of UTIs in nonpregnant women. Complicated UTI (e.g., in patients with diabetes mellitus, abnormal anatomy, prior urological surgery, history of renal stones, patients with indwelling catheters, or UTIs in spinal cord injuries) will be reviewed separately.
Data from ACOG PB #91, and the Infectious Disease Society of America.
